Curatorial Projects

Stockport Art Exhibtion 'Irregularities'

Having exhibited the Invisible Line of Time pieces in the Paris show, we were given the opportunity to curate an exhibition ourselves at Stockport Art Gallery, and show the work again. We formed a select group of curators for the project and together we organised the promotional workings of the exhibition along with the actual curatorial aspects of the arranging the works. I found this a very different way of thinking, when considering the space and placement for another artist's work in order to truly reflect their ideas and emphasise the aesthetic qualities of the pieces. Working as a collaborative curatorial group was a good experience for us all, it enabled us each to have individual responsibilities and a great deal of time, thought and organisation was put into each of the pieces displayed. This experience has been a useful tool within my own practice, and curating my own work and forming small installations and displays, this allows me to think more about how the each piece works as a collective allowing the audience to unfold the narrative.
