My thoughts concerning photography as a representation of memory were reflective of the idea that photography is a permanent representation. Photographs retain like a memory trace and are a way of filling the forgotten parts.
Having read parts of the book On Photography by Susan Sontag, who's studies concern the impact of excessive use of representations where the photograph of an event becomes more important than the event itself. Photography represents a machine of recorded events, remodelled by our multiplying worlds and relinquished memories. She states "it is the recording of the event that becomes the memory where memory (in the computer sense) becomes memories.
Using an Olympus OM10, extending my exploration of light and vision in photography, capturing natural sheens, glares and shadows from travelling through our everyday habitats.
Using the film camera plays upon the idea of the unexpected, and how light can create the illusion of an image. I spent time making adjustements the the allowance of exposure, I found that the larger the exposure the more obscurities of light and movemnt can be formed.
